Other than the obvious ones like Harry Potter and Twilight, what other series do you love or follow?

I love VC Andrews. There's probably 20 different series right there. Usually about 3-5 books per series.

Another series I just started reading recently are the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay. There's a TV show on Showtime called Dexter which is based on those books but IMO the books are better (and I LOVE the show!!)

I haven't picked up any other books recently (I have a crazy active 11 month old baby so I've been neglecting my books ) so I"m interested to see what recommendations other ladies might have for you too!

I was going to suggest V.C. Andrews too. There's really one been of her's that I haven't liked at all. I think it's called Midnight Flight.... not sure though. The rest are great!

Silly question but didn't VC Andrews pass away years ago? I thought I read that somewhere. I used to read her books years ago - I really like My Sweet Audrina, but I stopped reading her books when I thought she wasn't writing them anymore.

Yeah she herself only wrote My Sweet Audrina and the Dollanger (sp ?) series. The rest have been done by a ghost writer. I read somewhere that the GW is a man, but not sure if that's true or not.

Okay, I had to look it up and I see that VC Andrews wrote all the books up to Dark Angel. All the subsequent books were written by a ghost writer. And you're right, the ghostwriter is a man, an author by the name of Andrew Neiderman.

I find it interesting that someone would write sooo many books under someone else's name. Especially since VC Andrews only laid the groundwork for the Casteel series. Yet Neiderman continued to ghostwrite countless other series afterwards.

Oh, I found this info on the VC Andrews website.

The Outlander Series. The latest book just came out, and the books are like 1500 pages. Really really awesome historical fiction romance with some sci-fi. It's so hard to categorize but man it's so good!

I find it really interesting that it's a man that writes as her GW. I mean, reading those books you'd never guess it. They're all from a females POV and reading it, it sounds like a female, you know.

I discovered Outlander last year. Love them! I've only read 3 of them so far. I am trying to read them slowly b/c I know how long it takes her to come out with a new one!
