i'm looking for a new BOOK SERIES to get into. i've read HARRY POTTER and last summer i did the whole TWILIGHT thing. lately i've been reading just random books that i like (james patterson was my fav author in the summer), so now i'm thinking a new book series to get into. i like sorta fantasy stuff without getting too crazy into vampires (just b/c i read twilight doesn't mean i'm a hardcore vampire fan lol). i need books that get my attention quick and keep it going through out the book. i'm not too much into romance, but the undertone of it never hurt, hahaha.

p.s. i read all the alex cross books & the womens murder club books. i'm not feeling JP right now, haha.

ANY SUGGESTIONS????????? i'm going to the library tonight with the kids so i wanna be prepared LOL.

There's a series recommendations thread about a half way down the page. I believe VC Andrews, the Dexter series and the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon were recommended.

I think the Outlander series take a little bit to get into but are great books - they each are 800+ pages each.

If you like fantasy, there is also a fantasy recommendations thread. My personal favorite is Piers Anthony and the Xanth series - at least when he first started. I am reading his latest and I think he should have ended it a while ago - he's on book #33 and it was supposed to be a trilogy! Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series is great, too. I believe there were a few more fantasy recommendations. Check it out.

Three YA series that I like (I don't know why I've been reading YA so much lately)

The Hunger Games- Suzanne Collins
Strange Angels- Lili St. Crow
Ivy Cole and the Moon- Gina Farago

all are kinda fantasy, light romance and great quick reads.

Oh, I've heard lots of great things about The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. In fact, I have it sitting in my pile of library books right now. I can't wait to read it. I heard that Catching Fire, the second book in the series, is even better. I think the third book comes out this summer?

So I'm going to pace myself and read this slowly.

What books did you end up getting? I know how hard it is to go to the library with the kids. Sometimes I don't get to get any books at all b/c the kids make such a fuss. Lately, I've had to sneak to the library after DH gets home.
