Do you select books by how they look? If you are attracted by the artwork? If the title is intriguing?

yes, I do judge a book by it's cover, it's like the first impression a person gives. If you dont' like the first impression someone gives you (or the cover f a book) you're more likely to not like the second one (openeing it up and reading it).

These experiences, while often difficult to bear at the time, are percisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others."

i judge a book by it's cover. the cover has to draw me in, so i'll want to read the little blurb about the book....

Sometimes. The cover is the first thing I look at, but sometimes I'll be told about a book that's really good and the cover isn't all that interesting but the blurb on the back sounds intriguing.

I don't really look at the cover. I am usually attracted by the title, then I'll pick up the book to read the blurb. If the book does not have a blurb, I will not borrow the book. I don't like it when the book only has critic one liners instead of a blurb.

I think titles are pretty important. This was brought to my attention recently. I had read The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo, which I thought was pretty interesting. I found out that the original title in Swedish was Men Who Hate Women. I think that if they had kept the original title, I probably would not have read the book.

I hate the critic stuff. expecially the xfile fan fics..the critic lines are about the tv show not the book and i dont see the point of it.

If I'm interested by the write up in the back, I'll buy it. I'm not really interested in the cover.

I actually don't, not so much. I have some books with some weird covers and what not.. or weird titles.. and have thoroughly enjoyed the books. So, I tend to look past the title/cover.
