Hmmm....if you're a Danielle Steel fan I would say His Bright Light. It's very personal and touching.

Harry Potter series

Despite all the other fantastic books I've read, I wouldn't call any other book or series a "must read for every book lover".

How on earth did you read the whole series in a week!?!? Those books are HUGE! You must not have slept or eat or anything but read!!

Great series, isn't it? I am slowly working my way through them because I know that Diana Gabaldon takes forever to come out with a new book!

Have you read the companion series, Lord John? I've heard that they were good as well.

It depends what kind of thing you like to some extent...but...

Chocolat by Joanne Harris.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.
All the Harry Potters by JK Rowling but especially PoA, OoTP and Deathly Hallows.
The Green Mile by Stephen King and The Magic Cottage by James Herbert, equally.
And perhaps sad but true, PS I Love You by Cecilia Aherne.
