What is the saddest book you have ever read? Which book made you cry the hardest?

Time traveler's wife. It didn't make me cry, since I don't cry that easily hehe But one book that did make me cry was Tim by Colleen McCullough

I'll have to see if my library has that I've been meaning to read it again.

While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude..... These experiences, while often difficult to bear at the time, are percisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others."

I cry while reading books all the time.

The saddest book I've ever read is A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer. I probably cried the most during that book, but I sobbed often (cried hardest) during Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I had to stop reading to sob a few times in that book. I also sobbed during death scenes in Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince.
