i checked out this book from the library the other day. I havent been able to read it yet but im hoping i can focus enough to start it tonight. the author called it a "world book", the title is "the hollows insider" written by kim harrison. it tells more about the world she created in her "hollows series". but its from a different point of view and kind of like an extra to the series. what do you call this type of book??? its driving me nuts!

tia for your help

Diana Gabaldon did something like this, too, for her Outlander series and she called it the Outlander Companion.

Wikipedia lists those types of books as "Supplemental Works", so that's probably what I'd go with.
