I have never read Harry Potter - however I plan to read them out loud to Cameron before bed each night when he's older. What age would you recommend starting that? As in, when he would have comprehension of what is going on in those books?

When I was younger, my mom read Little House on the Prairie series to us, I figure Harry Potter is a good alternative given I have a boy

My seven year old understands Harry Potter when he sits in on their story time. I think the Littles just like the rhythms of the prose and bits and pieces of the story--I don't think they follow the full story. But they ask for it so I will read it

My boys like the Little House books We read Big Woods before we started Harry Potter

[COLOR="Purple"]Daniel (age 6) loves a set of books he has about a Big Bear and a Little Bear. He's also into annuals at the moment.

Michaela (age 6 months) isn't too bothered. Sometimes if she's awake at the right time I'll read her some of Daniel's "That's Not My...." books. They have lovely pictures, describing words and some feely bits.[COLOR]
Hazel likes this.
