So, who here has read The Bible from cover to cover? (Be honest!)

What do you think of it as a read?

I have, several times, but not since I was a kid/teen. The Old Testament is depressing--so much death and rape and misery. Plus I had trouble reconciling the vengeful god of the OT with the "God is Love" concept

Never cover to cover, but through elementary and high school, I've probably covered 90% of it. I went to Catholic schools

almost exactly that. I think in one of my freshman religion classes we read about 85-90% of it.

I have, several times. I think it's an amazing wealth of wisdom, whether you are Christian or not.

first time cover to cover in second grade. I read it aloud to my grandmother as part of a challenge to read the longest book we could for school. I won by over 200 pages

it's an interesting book. But to me it is a book, nothing more.
