I spent the weekend with family and it got my thinking about childrens authors. DF's neice turns 2 tomorrow and loves books. She had a few with her at the weekend and I had to say I was so disappointed with them lol! I'm currently TTC#1 so not familiar with popular kids stuff but her books included peppa pig, charlie n lola, in the night garden and a few other cartoon-y type things.
I joked that i'll be buying her some beatrix potter and roald dhal when I get the chance! I loved (and still do) all of the beatrix potter stories. If we ever get pg I would love to have a beatrix potter themed nursery.
I wondered if anyone else had a favourite childrens author?

I LOVED the Little House on the Prairie series. We started that when I was about 4. I loved Roald Dahl as well! And The Babysitters Club (well, I started with the Little Sister ones).

Good question. I do love the Beatrix Potter books. And Dr. Seuss books are pretty fun. I'm sure there are a lot that I like, and it's hard to pick a favorite.

I loved Enid Blyton, even though she's tremendously un-PC. I read all her school stories, mystery stories, Faraway tree stories, and collections of short stories. I'm not sure if there's any Enid Blyton book I haven't read. It would honestly be nice to re-collect and read them all again then pass them to Michaela though she'd probably think they're terribly dated now.
I also loved Roald Dahl, Judy Blume, Paula Danziger, Ursula Moray Williams, Gene Kemp, and The Family From One End Street series by Eve Garnett.
My favourite children's book ever was The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tiler by Gene Kemp.
