Have you been following the news coverage? The new Pope has been chosen today. They should be announcing who it is soon.

I'm not Catholic, but I'm still interested. It doesn't happen very often after all. It's an interesting ceremony to watch, there's a huge crowd at the Vatican too.

We watched, but it was by default. I was watching some shows from yesterday on my PVR, and the show ended, and it went to the channel I was last watching which was the news channel. That was at about 2:30 my time, and it wasn't until almost 3:15 they announced Francis I. So we watched and waited.

Yeah I hadn't meant to watch either. I got caught up in it!

I like the name choice, after St Francis.

I had my first communion in St Francis church I like that it is supposed to be a renewal and awakening. Hopefully he can make strides in bring some of the positive changes needed. Although I'm surprised that they selected someone who was 10 years older than most of the front-runners. But at the end of the day, its not age that matters.

I'm not Catholic, but my DH is. However, he could care less about the Pope. I'm not even sure he realizes that a new Pope is being appointed. I didn't watch the coverage. I prefer the more dramatic reality television to anything real world or news-y. *lol* At least this new Pope maybe wasn't a Hitler youth?
