It does, but it annoys me a lot more when they try to speak like that. It doesn't even make sense.

I find teens do that more than anybody. Here's hoping they don't continue it as they grow into adults!

Drives me insane. I don't mind some of the text speak words... like a good ol LOL etc. But seriously...

I don't reply to people who can't take the time to write things out (unless they state they are on their phone, then I might take the time) properly. I will tolerate it on my cell phone to an extent...I no longer text my brother because he can't take the time to spell anything correctly. L8r and H8 are not words!

I fear that it will. Teens consider it normal and don't remember a time before "text speak."

Drives.me.bonkers.

I use lol all the time, but I'm more likely to use a smiley on a forum like this.

I find it easier to read full sentences, grammar, paragraphs, etc. and am more likely to take the time to read it and respond (sorry, just telling the truth!). Same with spelling mistakes - everyone has auto correct, its not necessary to have a post full of spelling mistakes.

When I leave my parents, my mom always says "K-I-T" (keep in touch)....she's within walking distance but the fact that she says in in text-speak drives me.
