So, I LOVE reading mysteries. Anyone else? I'm always looking for new authors to read, so I'd love any suggestions.

Some of my favs:

Of course, Agatha Christie and P.D. James

Kate Ross -- She only wrote 4 books before she died, but they're all fantastic.

Laurie R. King -- She writes some Sherlock Holmes pastiches and some other stuff as well -- excellent!

Wilkie Collins -- The Moonstone and The Woman in White

Anne Perry

Elizabeth George -- Just discovered her. She's been compaired to P.D. James. Love her stuff so far.

That's just off the top of my head. If I think of more, I'll post later!

I like Sue Grafton for an easy read. She writes the A is for Alibi, etc. books.

I also LOVE Michael Connelly. His books are gritty crime novels so they can be a little graphic.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm always looking for new authors to try!

I LOVE all of the A. C. Doyle Sherlock Holmes stuff! Sadly, I've read it all...a couple of times!

I've never read any Mary Higgins Clark, and I've not even heard of Lillian Jackson Braun. I'll def. check them out! Thanks!

Yep, I love Michael Connelly too. I've only read a few of his books though--need to get more!

Thanks Rani! You've given me some more good authors to look into. I like medical mysteries too.

I've read some Patricia Cornwell. I like her Kay Scarpetta series a lot. I started one of her other books though and didn't like it as well.

I thought of a couple of other authors I like:

Bruce Alexander -- His Sir John Fielding series is pretty good. "Blind Justice" is the first one, and it is great!

I also like Raymond Chandler a lot. He wrote the Philip Marlowe, hardboiled detective, stuff. B)
