So we've had a thread on what we like to read, but does anyone here like to write?
I've been working on a novel for a while. Ever since my son was born, I really haven't had the time to write and research. I write mysteries.

This is a great thread Sharon!

I dabble in many different genres of writing. I mostly write free-verse poetry, however I am working on a concept for a novel. It's slow going, of course, but I would like to do this for myself at least-just to say I've written a novel, even if it doesn't get published! I work part-time as a freelance writer, but writing articles and editing just doesn't hold the same joy for me as creative writing.

I also enjoy writing children's books. I have yet to finish one as well, but I have two I'm working on now. I think this is the most challenging of all genres--there are effective and ineffective formulas for children's books, IMO, and children are often pickier on what they like/don't like as opposed to adults! So I think this is the most fun and challenging writing I've done!

Take care all,
Erica

I dabble in writing, and honestly, I've only finished probably 2 of the projects I've started. The rest sit in some kind of limbo for that magical day when I'll dive in head first again.

For a few years I wrote feature stories for a local newspaper. That was great fun! Then I went back to college and finished my degree in a completely different field, and now I work in juvenile probation - so my life is a lot different, lol. I've had a few poems published, but would like to get more serious about writing magazine articles when life slows down a little.

LOL, I am still to chicken to send ANY of my creative writing out to try and have it published. It's the feeling that my work is never truly finished and has yet to be perfected (which seems to be a common feeling among most writers I know). I know one of these days I will-but I just can't let them go yet!

Oh, I'm that way.
I decided that when I finally decide to pick that novel again, I'm gonna write and write and leave the proofreading for later. Otherwise I stay correcting and correcting two chapters and I never write more. GRRR. I'm a perfectionist.

I used to write when I was in High School, but stopped. I have been wantin to try and write a novel, but just haven't gotten that far. Maybe now that I am a SAHM I can try to pick up on it again.

Hi Sharon

For the moment-I just like to write nonsense blogs.. I used to write songs-then poems.. I would love to write a book-it would be humor.. Although I've thought about writting my life story and I guess that would fit under humor..

I really wanted to write a book about teenage pregnancy.. Maybe someday...
