I've struggled with depression for as long as I can remember, but for it hits me that hardest when I am pregnant. With my first my husband was out to sea during my pregnancy and my OB suggested meds, but I wouldn't agree at the time. I suffered through with it. I had a hard time with my second pregnancy and got on Zoloft shortly after she was born. Not the greatest idea, but I stopped cold turkey when I felt better.

Now I am pregnant with my third and this has been the worst bout of depression by far. We've moved halfway across the country and I don't have any family or friends for support. I'm thinking about getting back on the Zoloft. My husband doesn't agree with it. But I feel like my kids deserve to have a mom that isn't yelling or crying all the time.

So what can I expect with the Zoloft? What are the possible side effects? Will I really have to wean before delivery?

Idk its weird how some meds can work great for some ppl, and horrible for others.

I was just saying in another thread, this zoloft made me 100 X worse when i went on it when Nevan was 2 weeks old.. it actually GAVE me WORSE intrustive thoughts, paranoia, fear, etc. so i dont recommend it to anyone personally. but if it works for a person than thats great i guess.

I bf on zoloft too for 8 mo. i didnt notice any effects on Nevan.. only me unfortunatley.

The side effects i got .... were the ones they are actually supposed to treat.

-anxiety
-depression
-insomnia
-intrusive fears, thoughts, etc.

I think natural hylands calms work very good .. when you want to relax.. and al ot of other natural ways too.
