I was on zoloft from the time nev was 2 weeks old till 16 mo old, and it drove me insane... i was off all meds for a couple mo , and went back on my celexa 3 weeks ago, and im feeling A LOT of improvement... celexa is used for depression, anxiety, and some obsessive type worrying as well. But it takes several weeks to work. I am also taking lorazapam for any really bad cases of panic/anxiety. It helps me to calm my mind down at night to sleep. I would give your med time, and use some meditation type therapy, and also try to join groups, and even positive affirmations to help with your anxiety. It seems to help mine a lot lately along WITH the meds.
This is a great site i joined... all to do with positive thinking, and affirmations... u can create your own as well, and repeat them as many times as u like... ill add another link to do with the LOA , and what positive affirmations can do for your mind. Its amazing... of course im not 100 % but when i get down again, or obsessive, or negative, and even anxiety, i say my affirmations in a quiet place by myself like the tub, bed, meditating, etc.
I'm supposed to be on Lorazepam, Lexapro, Ambien, and Trazadone. I am currently and have not for quite some time taken anything. I didn't care for the side effects of the Ambien or Lexapro. I find that the lorazepam is very helpful even without taking an anti-depressant. I suffer from a TBI, PTSD, and GAD.
I would give your meds some time to work and see if after a month or two they're truly not working. If that proves to be the case definitely ask for what you know did work or has worked for you. Try to be your own best advocate and insist on what you know to be true for you.
I've been on the Prozac for a year now. I felt like it stopped working a couple of months ago. That's when my doc gave me the Cymbalta but I had sexual side effects with it and that's a side effect I'm not willing to deal with so I weaned off and back to the Prozac. I was afraid to go without anything at all.
I see my doc tomorrow morning so I'm hoping for something different that will help me.
Hmm so I saw my doc today and she said it would be best to keep me on the Prozac and ADD Wellbutrin to that. So I'm now on both. If that doesn't work than she wants me to try a mood stabilizer medication.
I thought this was odd but I Googled it and apparently it's pretty common to take Wellbutrin and Prozac together. I really, really hope it does the trick for me.
I am on Wellbutrin for depression, Klonopin for anxiety, and Pristiq for anxiety & depression. I also take Propranolol as needed for the physical symptoms of anxiety. Before I was on Pristiq, I was taking Paxil...
Wellbutrin is also known to cause anxiety, and I have been on it for 6 years, so I have always been on something else for the anxiety.
My doctor also lowered my Wellbutrin dosage last week, which I'm scared about, b/c I've been on it for so long and it has been working for me!!! But she thinks it is adding to my anxiety... soooo I'm hoping I don't get depressed again...
