and how much is from a "chemical imbalance"? Do you think your condition affects your moods or your life circumstances affect your moods more?

For me, my life and the people in it really affect my moods. If someone else is having a bad day it can make me have a bad day or even through me into a depression. But, I also think that my bipolar makes me more sensitive and little things throw me off so I guess I would say both. But usually there are triggers and it's not all chemical.

I think a lot of my mood depends on my surroundings. Sometimes it's easier to remove myself from said environments, and sometimes it's not.
Example! My immediate coworker is constantly on the fritz. Always stressed, always running around like a headless chicken. I finally had to tell her about my current pregnancy and since then she's tried to make sure I don't get 'excited about anything' in any way. And it's been helping keep me level and focused on keeping calm.
I've started getting really good at just walking away from things or people that start to affect my mood negatively. I'm proud of that accomplishment.

A little bit of both for me. Sometimes if hubby is in a bad mood that can either go 1 of 2 ways. Sometimes I can try to pick him up and get him smiling, other times I'm just like, eh hell with it...get over yourself and grow up. So, kinda depends.
