Does anyone know where I can find resources on post-partum anxiety? I can find a ton of information on post-partum depression, but I know that's not what's going on with me (no sadness, lethargy, feelings of despair or anger, etc.).
I am 33, my DD just turned two months old and is my first child. I had a wonderful pregnancy and delivery with no complications at all, and have been super lucky to have TONS of help from my DH, my parents, and my MIL. I've taken several months off work and am super lucky to be able to stay home with my LO during this time. Everything has been great until last weekend. I started having radiating pain that came and went in my left arm, shoulder, neck, and back. Then I started having diarrhea and nausea, as well as a strange feeling of hot and cold waves washing over me. When I started having chest pain and what felt like indigestion the next day, I went to the doctor. They did an exam, blood work, and an EKG, and ruled out heart issues and any type of virus. The doctor thinks the pain and soreness that comes and goes in my left arm/back/shoulder has to do with carrying around a baby and not being used to it (which makes total sense) and that I have the tail end of a mild stomach bug.
Even after being seen by the doctor twice, I still don't feel well at all. I did a Google search for my symptoms and found a short article about Post-Partum Anxiety, which I had never even heard of. However, I can't seem to find much else about it online.
If you know of anywhere I can find more information, please let me know. TIA!!
I just glanced through it but The Other Postpartum Problem: Anxiety
Seems pretty thorough.
I have PP-Anxiety and it sucks. I just went on medication today to help. I just told my doctor I believed I had that and they said medicine would be best.
However, I have seen a few counselors. Do you have that option? They might be able to help you work through it.
Excuse me if my typing is bad There's probably a baby in my arms.
