if you do ... what do you do for it or take for it?

right now I have a mix of my lorazipam and also imovane (zopiclone) ... I've actually been sleeping for the last two weeks since I've gone back to working full time and hope it stays this way ... but I'm also hoping that maybe one of these good days I can actually sleep without the meds ... that would be wayyyy cool!

sheesh I spoke too soon .... seems like the imovane effect is wearing off of me now cause I've been up since 1 am

I need to alternate it now with another med ... probably something OTC and simple hopefully like unisom or valerian root (but that smells sooooooooooooooo funny lol)

I suffer from insomnia, but have not it in awhile. When I do have it nothing really helps....My Zyprexa is supposed to help with sleep, sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Being mom to a six month old is the best thing to get me really tired and get good sleep.

actually I'd admit that since I've been back to working fulltime hours my sleep pattern has greatly improved. It was horrendous before.

you're probably like me and it depends on whether your mind is at ease or not.

I have had problems with insomnia pretty much all my life. My new doc is thinking maybe I have bipolar since I go between periods of getting ~3 hrs of sleep per 48 hrs and sleeping 15 hrs a day and because anytime I take any of the basic SSRIs (prozac is especially bad for this), I get manic and do stupid things like jump off the roof.

I am in an insomnia period right now, I think I have had maybe 10 hrs of sleep over the last 4 days. Thankfully I don't work at the moment, because I never know how long it will be until I crash. At this point, it could be another week still, or it could be tomorrow. The worst part about it is times like right now, when it's gone on for long enough that I feel tired, but whenever I try to sleep I just can't. I lie in bed for hours praying for sleep.

About two hours after I made that post, I finally got some sleep, about 10 hours. But I know I'm going to go another few days at least with little sleep. I really need to see a pdoc, but it's hard because I'm on an HMO and they keep jerking me around. I've been toying with the idea of taking some of the Seroquel I still have (I've been to so many different doctors, and they either think I'm bipolar or schizoid, they never agree), because I know I'm getting into the danger zone, what with not sleeping, not wanting to eat, and a very high libido. But I don't know if I should, since I know the dangers of self-medicating. Anyway, if I go another week with little sleep, I think I'll do it anyway, just to get some sleep.

When any of yall get insomnia, do you get very sensitive to certain stimuli? What I mean is, when I'm not sleeping, everything seems so loud and bright that it's difficult to function, and I tend to get very irritible because it's just like my senses are overloaded. Does that happen to you?

I'm REALLY happy you know the dangers of self medicating!!!

and yes to all of your answers ... when I go for about 2 weeks without even a nap ... my senses are just about shot and I'm sensitive to EVERYTHING ... which is the dangerous time for me cause I can crash just about anywhere and I can't even cross a road properly as I can't average how far or how fast a car is.
