I was on antidepressants, but cause im pregant i had to get off of them. Anyways i was wondering when i can get back on them(if i can while im pregnant) and what would i be put on......and after i have the baby could i go back to the lexapro that i was on
I was on Wellbutrin and Lexapro before I started TTC, then I went off both because I thought it would be best for the baby. Well, after a few months of being preggers and feeling like I couldn't make it another day, I quickly talked to my midwife. Glad to say I'm starting to feel like my old self again...well, except for the back pain!
I am only taking Wellbutrin now (my midwife said Lexapro is unsafe for mommies in their 3rd trimester and breastfeeding). I've decided not to B/F and be able to take my Lexapro (it works so much better for me than the Wellbutrin-it's the only thing that's made a true difference for me). I'd rather be a balanced mommy than B/F and be a basketcase, you know? But, that's just me being afraid of the PPD.
I hope that helps. Sounds like if you want to go back on your Lexapro immediately after you have your baby, that B/F may not be an option-perhaps you could talk to your midwife/doctor about other antidepressant options if you want to B/F? Also, talk to your doctor/midwife NOW about what you can take while preg-it's weird because some antidepressants are ok, and others aren't...
