I'm not sure what I should do. I graduate in May for the diploma in Medical Office Assistant. I was thinking of bridging over at my school to the Medical Coding for Inpatient/Outpatient Hospital coding plus getting my cpc and cca certifications. However, I thought I'd be done with that by December at the latest.

I just found out today though, that if I did this bridging, I wouldn't be done until Mar 2012 because I can only take 1 coding class at a time, and one of my coding classes is 3x a week so it's a term all by itself.

wwyd?

If I were you I'd do it. A year goes by fast so why not? March is only three more months after December anyway..

Go for it, just think you will be a graduate coming out with ICD-10 knowledge, the employer isn't going to have to pay to train you! I think that will be to your advantage.

I think I'm going to. I signed the paperwork to bridge. I had to talk to FOS (father of son) because we're trying to work things out and I was supposed to move in December.

But everything's good! Wish me luck being a coder!

Thanks. I'm excited. I love my externship place too!

Though I'm not loving ds being sick (diagnosed with Asthma on monday and had a real bad cough with wheezing) all week so I had to miss classes and interning.
