I'm not going to take any summer classes this year. I took 9 hours last summer, and I am really regretting not enjoying summer off. This year I am going to enjoy the break.
For vacation, the only thing we have planned is a trip to St. Louis for a couple of days for a baseball game. My DH is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fans, and originally the tickets were for me and him. However, my kids are going to be home that weekend instead of at their bio-dad's and so he will be taking my son to the game with him and I'll just hang out at the hotel that day.
I will either be finished this week or in June (depending upon my grade in one of my classes). So I will be off all summer. I am so excited because I have a week planned at the beach and want to do some local day-trips as well. And it will give me time to focus on TTC. I might start back for the coursework that I need to get a certified dietary manager certificate in the fall, but I have some time to think about that.
Hi Stephanie!! We are heading to the Outer Banks. I've been there before and loved it, especially since my idea of a great vacation is lounging on the beach with a good book. I've been to Myrtle too and also enjoyed that (and it has more stuff for kids to do)
I agree with lounging on the beach with a good book. Nothing better! lol My grandfather actually lives near the Outer Banks, but I haven't been there. I grew up in West Virginia (45 minutes south of Morgantown) and I spent most of my life back east. I've been in Iowa for 6 years now, and they only downside to living in the midwest is that there isn't a beach anywhere around here! lol The closest I will get is possibly a weekend in Chicago lounging on the shores of Lake Michigan. I don't even think that will happen though.
My kids are beach bums. Their father lives in Florida, on the gulf coast and they sent 8 weeks every summer living on the beach. It makes me so jealous! (not that I could handle being near my ex again, but I sure do miss the beach!)
Summer classes aren't much fun. Next year I will transfer to another school where they do quarters instead of semesters. Not only will I go to school through the summer, but I'll have to take a full-time load too. That's a big part of why I am taking this summer off. It's likely my last one ever. lol
