So far, I have generally bought my books from the bookstore, and I try to get used books as often as possible. I generally have to use my financial aid to pay for the books though, and I am limited to the bookstore because of that. I really want to try to find some cheaper options for renting books instead. I may try Chegg next semester.
It depends on the book. If it's a textbook made specially for the school, obviously I buy it in the bookstore. Renting from the school bookstore isn't even worth it because you only save like $20. I'd rather buy it and sell it to another student afterwards. I've also rented. I've used Chegg and I liked it. I try to compare prices a lot. Most of my English texts I bought off of amazon.
