I'm not a mommy, but I am a student. I noticed that some of you were going back to school, but didn't seem to be looking forward to it. I just wanted to say that time will probably fly by for you - it did for me anyway. I got my bachelor's in speech and hearing sciences and then I took a semester or two off when I got married. After that, I started my Masters in speech-language pathology (speech therapy), which was one of the hardest things I've ever done. It was a very stressful time. The program at my university is one of the top ten in the nation, so it's a good program, but it's a ton of work! I had a part time job when I worked on my Bachelor's, but there was no way I would have wanted a job during my Master's - I probably would have went nuts! We had classes and had clinic, which made it really difficult and I would be doing school work/clinic work 7 days a week and frequently 12-14 hours a day. Despite this, I'm so glad I did it. There were many times during my Master's that I questioned whether or not that I even wanted to go into this profession, but now that I'm almost done, I'm glad I stuck with it. I hated grad school, but I love the profession I will be graduating in June thank goodness! I just think if you really put your mind to it and are motivated, then you can do it - that's what I did.
