Today I got a call from Kaplan Univ. and the person told me that because I'm taking more than my 'allotted' ten credits I have to pay for the extras out of pocket. Has anyone ever heard of losing aid because you took TOO MANY classes? It doesn't make any sense to me.

Anyway, after learning this I talked to my boss about what to do. My employer says that an employee has to be employed for one year before being eligible for tuition reimbursement. I've been there for 4 months. My boss went and talked to one of the VP's and we're going to try to make a special exception for me! If they can't make an exception for me then I may have to either sign a contract saying I'll stay for a year after graduation or else they'll reimburse me after my one year anniversary for my out of pocket expenses. SOOOO whatever happens it looks like I can still finish school! YAY!

I haven't posted on this board in a really long time...

Are you going through FAFSA loans?

If so, they only approve you for a certain $ amount, and if your tuition is more than that then you have to pay the school directly for that difference. Thats the only thing I know that could be similar to your situation.....

I agree with the above post, I don't know about taking more than the alloted amount of hrs though. At least there was good news in there about you being able to finish school alright!!!!!!! How much longer do you have?
