I'm so glad I found this board. I am a student mom too. I am 29 years old and have been married to my DH for four years (in August). I have a B.A. from UConn in communication disorders (1999) and a master's degree from PSU in communication disorders (2001). I worked in a local school district for 5 years (I'm a speech-language pathologist). In December 2005, I started thinking about going back for a Ph.D. in communication disorders. My very supportive DH said he'd move if I wanted to go so I applied to a program and now I'm a full time Ph.D. student. I wasn't pregnant when I accepted my student position. We rented out our house at home and bought a townhouse at school. Then we got pg (we were thrilled because he had two losses) with a sticky baby. I got though my first semester last fall and was getting kicked like crazy during my statistics final! DS showed up 3 days after my last final - he was 5 weeks early. I actually had a wonderful spring semester even though it was really hard to balance school, research, and supervising grad students with AJ. I took on a lot this summer so I'm up all hours of the night now working when AJ is sleeping but I'm getting my work done. It is nice to be on a board where everyone is experiencing similar issues!!
