There isn't one.

The BEST car seat out there varies by your child's needs, your budget, and your vehicle. You want to purchase a seat that you're going to use properly, your child fits in properly, and you can afford. For some that is a $50 Cosco Scenera, for others that is a $300 Britax Boulevard. There are seats that are "easier" to use (though I've never had an issue with any seat I've owned) or have more bells and whistles (more padding, cup holders, harness covers, etc.). That doesn't really make one of those seats better than another. One of those seats might be a better choice for one family if it's something that will help them use the seat properly (like ease of install).

Every single seat on the market has passed the exact same safety testing. We do not know what seats have just passed, and we don't know what seats have passed and gone way above and beyond. It's a pass or fail system. Just like when you go to the doctor, you don't know if your doctor passed medical school with an A+ or with a B-.... all you know is that he passed and has his credentials.
