I knew our Frontier 85 was out for delivery, but I had no idea that our Evenflo Maestro would show up first!!
I got the Adele cover. It's two tone gray with pink piping and pink stitching. The pink is really pretty, not hot pink... but very deep and noticeable.
I don't have my van today, DH's car is in the shop so he took the van to work, so no comments on installing it yet. With it sitting on my dining room floor, Isabel's shoulders are just under the 3rd harness slot (with one still to move up to). It's a lot lighter than the Nautilus. Changing the harness to the different slot heights was easier than the Nautilus, and so was changing the crotch strap (by far!). She was only in the seat for less than 5 minutes while taking these pictures, and her neck is already red from the harness. The harness straps are REALLY close together. I will probably make an educated parental decision to put THIN harness covers on it (actually, I think I'm going to make some myself, out of fleece), but I can't advise any of you to do that
Now, onto the pictures!
And some comparison shots of the Nautilus
Total height (floor to top of seat, measured from the back of the seat)- 27 inches
Internal seat height- just shy of 26 inches
Slot 4- 18 inches
Slot 3- 16 inches
Slot 2- 14.25 inches
Slot 1- 12.5 inches
Crotch strap slots, measured from seat back- inner 5.25 inches; outer 7 inches
Seat depth- 10.75 inches
Internal back width- 12 inches
External back width- 17.75 inches
Internal seat width- 13 inches
External seat width (cupholder to cupholder)- 18.75 inches
Base height- 5.5 inches (slops downward towards the inside of the seat)
Well, we got some bad news about DH's car. His car is done for, and honestly, I don't know when we're going to be able to get him something new. We've been sharing for the past 4 month and will probably have to continue for another year. :\ Therefore, one of our two new car seats isn't needed... so the Maestro is being returned.
We had bought the Maestro for airline and rental car purposes, and we had the same issue with the neck straps. He wasn't in the seat long enough for it to be a major issue, but we had to make is so that his shirt would kind of be a buffer from the straps. Otherwise I liked a lot about the seat, but due to the neck straps I knew I wouldn't be able to consider using it as a regular seat.
