This is still probably 2 years off for me, but is there any difference in safety of a forward facing convertible seat and a forward facing 5-point harness seat (like the nautilus)? I'm assuming its the same thing, but just curious...

No safety difference

Both are perfectly fine options for a forward facing child. If you already have a convertible, I'd continue to use it for forward facing as well to save money.

Yeah, that's true...but its no fun having the same seat for like 6 years
