Simpson "racing" carseats?

Simpson Racing - Simpson Tyler Child Car Safety Seat [94000] - $199.95 :

We need a convertible for DH and my mom to share, so we were looking, because the Britax we have for my vehicle is too hard to take out and install again, so we are just keeping it in. none of us have LATCH in the center seats, I have a GMC, DH has a Subaru, and mom has a Mercedes. Seriously? Three car companies, and NO LATCH in middle seat? That infuriates me! ANYWAYS... DH saw this, and LOVES it because it is Simpson Racing. Can't find reviews anywhere, so, anybody know anything about them?

The ones I've seen are Graco(MyRide65 and Nautilus) seats with Simpson cover/logos on them.

Yep, they are simply Graco brand car seats endorsed by Simpson racing, so they have the Simpson logo on them. I believe the two current seats are the Graco My Ride 65 (convertible) and the Graco Nautilus (combination).

Here are their pictures:

Why not just install it outboard? Britaxes are usually one of the easiest to install, and LATCH is no safer than the seat belt. Many car manufacturers don't have LATCH in the middle seat. My Toyota Camry and Mazda CX-9 don't either. Of all the cars we've owned since our first DD was born, only one had LATCH in the center that was not borrowed from the outboard seats (Ford Expedition).

What does "install it outboard" mean? sorry!! We have our Britax installed in the center seat with the seatbelt.

Outboard is the outside position, either position by the doors.

oh. Thanks. The cop who checked to make sure our carseat was installed correctly told us it is much safer to be in the center position regardless of LATCH or seatbelt. Which makes sense, in a side collision, I would think it would be safer to be in the center of the seat.

For a rfing kiddo, they are already so safe simply by being rfing. The safety difference between the middle and outer seats is not really significant. However, if tou want to continue installing it in the center, just use the seat belt. Like I said, britaxes are really easy to install, so you can do it. Unless of course you really want a new seat, and then we'll all enable you.
