My 9 week old is riding in the true fit (RFing, obviously). He's about 13lbs, not sure of his length. I have the straps on the lowest setting with the infant insert in place. I'm having problems with the straps staying on his shoulders. The right one keeps sliding down. I took out the head rest thinking that it might be moving the strap over but that didn't help. Has anyone has this problem with this seat? Is it time to move the strap up to the next setting??

Where are his shoulders in relation to the harness on the next setting? If that still puts the harness at or below his shoulders, then I'd move them up. What about the infant insert? Is he ready to have that removed?

I think the next one up will be slightly above his shoulders. I'm not sure if he is or not. How can I tell??

I think we took the infant insert out fairly early. I don't remember if there were any rules about it... as long as they still fit ok with it out, they may help a bit.

I ended up taking out the insert and he was able to stay on slot 1. Even with the insert in, the second slot was above his shoulders. Thanks for all our help!!
