Hi ladies I don't think I've ever posted here but DH and I are thinking ahead because I think (I haven't actually measured yet) our LO will outgrow his seat fairly soon. We're looking for a new seat (with a taller shell) probably not till around income tax time but I like to do plenty of research We'd like to keep him RF to 3 (or longer) but a seat that can also sit FF for when we do turn him. He's 35" and 28lbs at 2yrs old right now.

Here he is in his Myride 65 it doesn't seem like he has a bunch of room to grow RF. And I hate the way this seat sits FF!

Can you measure his torso height? Have him on the floor against a wall. Measure from the floor to the top of his shoulders. What vehicle(s) will it be used in? Do you have a budget in mind?

He actually does have quite a bit of room above his head before he outgrows that seat. If you like Graco, check out the Graco Size4Me 70.

He's about 28" floor to top of shoulders.
It'll used a a 04 Ford explorer in the back middle seat, no latch there. No budget in mind just want a tall enough one he can stay RF for a while.

A 28" torso cant be right. That means he's outgrown every seat on the market, and clearly he hasn't. Is it 28" to the top of his head? My 4.5 yr old has a torso height around 15", and she is nearly 42" tall.

How much space is between the top of his head and the top of the shell of the Myride? He needs 1" or more to still fit, and each 1" after that means about 1 yr of torso growth. So if theres 3" from his head to the top of the seat, he has about 2 yrs left in it. If he still fits, use it to the max RFing, and then buy a combination seat for FFing.

It's 28" from the ground to the top of his shoulders. I'm guessing that's not what I was supposed to measure for torso height?

Just guessing....he might have 3 or 4 inches of shell left in the my ride.

ETA oops I had him standing measuring hold on I will go measure again!

Okay it's about 12-12.5 inches. He wears CDs so that probably gives him a boost.

LOL Probably would've helped if I had written SIT in my OP. Sorry about that.

If he has 3-4" over his head, then you have at least 1.5-2 yrs before he outgrows it. TBH, I'd continue waiting it out, and see where you are in 6 months. Unless he has a major growth spurt, I really think you can make it to 3 RFing easily in the MyRide. Then get a combination seat (Graco Nautilus, Britax Frontier 85, Evenflo Maestro, or Recaro ProSport) to use FFing and as a booster.

Ok awesome I didn't realize it could make it so much longer, that would be nice! The MyRide is a nice seat for RF and he's plenty happy in it still
