My almost 4 year old is in a Britax Marathon we bought in 2009. My almost 10 month old is needing out of her snugride as she is now 20lbs and 29inches. I was thinking of moving her into the Marathon and getting a Britax Frontier for older DD. How long does a Marathon last before expiring? And is a Frontier a good choice for the almost 4 year old? She is tall and about 40lbs.

Your Marathon is good for 6 years from the date of manufacture. You can find that date on your seat, there should be a sticker on the bottom, side or back. You purchased it in 2009, but that doesn't mean it was manufactured in 2009.

My 4 year old rides in a Britax Frontier 85. I love it. She's 43.5 inches, and 43 pounds. She has been in it since she was 3 years and 8 months old. It is a beast to install, it's a big seat.
