Hi everyone, I have a three and a half yr old daughter who is in the middle seat FF in a 5 pt harness in my 2009 jeep liberty. I am expecting another baby in August and have read different views on where to place her and where to place the RF infant in his/her car seat. I know that the middle is the safest position and have read that Maddie should stay in the middle as she is lesser protected due to being in a FF position?

What is safest for my daughter and for the new baby?

Technically, the middle is safest, so the most vulnerable child (in your case, FFing child) should go there. Driver and passenger side are statistically equally safe. However, you might not be able to fit your kids next to each other, so putting them both outboard is safe. Just make sure your seats are installed properly and that your FFing child's seat is top tethered.
