My son just turned 5 and he weighs 46 pounds and is 42 inches tall.We currently have a cosco scenaro booster for him(we had the 5 point harness up until last week).
I want a booster with a 5 point harness that he can ride in until he is at least 65 pounds. We have a 2011 Toyota Corolla.
Based on his age, weight height and the size of our car what would be a good booster seat with a harness?
I am considering the following: Graco Nautilus 3 in 1
Britax Frontier 85
Recaro Pro Sport
The Cosco Scenera does not become a booster. I'm betting you have another Cosco product, and many of those do not make good boosters because they position the seat belt over the soft part of the belly, not the bony hips. If that's the case, you will want to buy a new seat as soon as possible.
Some good combination seats are the Harmony Defender, Evenflo Securekid 300/400, Graco Nautilus/Argos, and Britax Frontier. The Prosport is a nice seat, but it will last as long as the Nautilus (their top harness heights are the same). If you're on a tight budget, the Defender is the cheapest. If you need to fit two other car seats in the Corolla, the Defender is the narrowest. If he's your one and only, any of them are great options and will likely last until he's 10ish in booster mode. If he still needs a booster at that point, a backless one is just $13 at Walmart.
