You know what I did? I bought the same books and materials her school was using (A Beka) - that's what she has used since K4 and it's way ahead of the public school system and it includes the Christian view on everything. I love, love, love it! It's very simple for me to figure out.

I ordered the DVD's to start with but returned them shortly after - they put her and I both to sleep! Here is their website: http://www.abeka.com/ If you think you guys would be interested in the DVD's, the website to that is: http://www.abekaacademy.org/

Well I found his school books online! The ones he has been using so I think I am going to go with them. And get this ... If I am reading it right I can get his whole school year of books plus the grade keys for $188.00!!!! I am paying for him basically to go to a building. I am planning other things as well for weekly activities. I told his teacher today she is upset because she adores him but I simply can't afford private school right now and I WON'T send him to public. I hear great things about homeschooling so I hope it works out.

How great!

Be sure to check out Home school Legal Defense first (http://www.hslda.org/Default.asp?bhcp=1)! It'll give you lots of helpful information, some info you need for your state so you're 'legal' and if you join they help protect your rights as a homeschooling family. Yes, even this day in age families are still being harassed. I've never had a problem per sey but know lots that have and they will fight for you and deal with everything for you if you ever do have a problem.

I also have some of resources on my homeschooling blog. You can find useful info here: http://www.home-school.com/ and there are great FREE resources here: http://www.thehomeschoolmom.com/.

I would also recommend googling your state name and homeschooling. Most of the other resources I have are for pertinent only to my state.

Also, it's good to find a co-op in your area (you can google that too) for interaction with other homeshooling students and they have field trips and things that easier to do/get into with a group.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Hope it helps
