I live just outside the Philadelphia city limit, very close to NJ and we usually get nothing other than blizzards from time to time but this week we had an earthquake and now we are on "storm watch" because of Hurricane Irene, hopefully it doesn't hit the area as hard as they are predicting!! yikes!!
I'm in the UK and to date (touch wood) we haven't had anything like the extreme weather you guys sometimes get.
Sometimes small tornadoes by the coast (I don't live on the coast though) and small earthquakes. We have gales sometimes in the fall/winter but only occasionally have I seen them turn to hurricanes and usually again near the coast. Sometimes bad rainfall causes floods in lowland areas of the UK.
