So last week, my one midwife told me that if I think labour is progressing very quickly, I should page them and tell them to meet me at the hospital.

Yesterday, the other midwife told me that if it's going quickly, I should stay put at home and wait for them to arrive to assess me, because it's really dangerous for a baby to be born in a car.

Hmm. Now I am totally confused! DH thinks the second midwife is pushing for a home birth, but I didn't really get that impression. I just think she is worried we won't make it in time and would rather have us at home if that happens than on the highway.

Any thoughts?

how long will it take you to get to the hospital? or how long would it take for them to get to your home? Personally if I thought things were going really quickly and I was close enough to a hospital I'd want to head straight there instead of waiting around for someone to get to my house, but it all depends on what you'd be more comfortable with.

Is this your first child? If so, it could take longer for you to labor.
