I pumped for the first time today. The pediatrician told me to pump after a feeding. It just so happened that after I got everything sanitized today, RJ went through a thing where he ate like every hour for a few hours. He seemed to eat alot. Then after the last time I pumped for maybe 15-20 minutes and only got 3 1/4 ounces. Should I be worried about my supply, or is it just because he ate so much? Also, when do you guys pump? After a feeding, or at a different time?

WOW 3 1/4 oz is GREAT especially after a feeding!!! I usually pump in the morning if she hasn't woken up and I'm engorged. If I pump after feeding I get 2 oz total usually from both breasts...

I exclusively BF except when I am at work. I do one extra pump in the AM when I am home in between feedings...

Your output is great! If you want to build a stash, keep the time of day and length consistent. I started pumping at 2 weeks and when I started back to work today I have a freezer stash of over 200 ounces!

I don't think that's "only" for after a feeding. I wouldn't worry. That sounds good to me.

Thats a great amount for right after a feeding! Matthew wouldn't take to the breast for the first 2.5 weeks, so I was pumping, I would get 5-6 ounces a breast. Now that he is breasfeeding, I usually only get 1 ounce from each breast if I pump right after a feeding. I still get 5-6 if he takes a long nap and I go more then 3 hours without him nursing.

That's a great amount, as I was told we should only get about 2 ounces TOTAL per pumping session. I breastfeed exclusively, except for when I'm at work and whenever I'm extra engorged.
