Ugh. My husband gave Adrian the entire set of Mr. Men books for Christmas. We've been working our way through them and read Mr. Greedy a few days ago. So tonight, out of the blue, Adrian tells me I'm fat like Mr. Greedy. I am fat, and he didn't mean it in a mean way, but it hurt to the quick. I wasn't even really able to talk to him about how it's not nice to say that to someone. He did know I was sad and then he was sad and it was a big mess. We cuddled in bed and read like we always do (not Mr. Greedy) and I sang to him tonight...so he was all smiles at bedtime but I'm feeling rotten about the way I handled things. I think I'm going to need to grow a thicker skin. Toddlers are far too honest!

awe...Zachy always tells me what a big butt I have...it's true, I do! HUGS! It is good to start telling them about what we don't say to people and what it means to be polite.

I'm sorry. I usually like how honest toddlers can be, but sometimes they can be brutal! HUGS.

I'm sorry. Hazel often asks about my few pregnancy zits...she says "mommy have big boo boo on her face, ewww!" It sucks to feel that way....

Ugh, how horrific! So sorry for both of you. I'm just waiting for the day that Presley comments on my cellulite, varicose veins and/or wrinkles. I remember flapping the skin under my Mom's arms and laughing at her about it when I was about 5. Paybacks are bound to be hell!

Just watch out, some of those little miss books are mean!
I wouldn´t have been amused either, but then looking back on it, I bet you find it a little funny. These kids catch us unprepared, Ana has started insulting Inés and I can only think to say "we don´t say that to others, it makes us sad and its not nice"
She called baby sister a silly poo, thats what you get for sending kids to school!

Oh all of ours get in big trouble for saying fat. ((Or anything like that in relation to size)) We had a lot of problems with Zach calling Ryan fat, and my bothers teasing Ryan about being chunky and it gave him some serious problems a year ago. He would just barely eat enough to get by because he wanted to be skinny like Zach. We felt so bad because it's almost impossible to explain to kids like the two of them that Ryan's not chubby. He's like 40% in weight for his height and age, Zach - and me and my brothers - are just all underweight, at like 10% and lower.

:-( I'm sure that would be hard to hear..even if it is coming from a 2 year old. Not sure if this will help any, but...On the flip side you are/will be setting a great example of how beauty is not based on dress size; it's a matter of the heart! TRUE beauty doesn't look like a barbie ;-) ((hugs)) mama! You are beautiful!
