I am trying to find a reason for these symptoms and I can't. I am going to take Jamie to the pedi on Monday but I can't think of what would cause these symptoms. Jamie has been throwing up in the middle of the night in her sleep. She will get up and act fine untill she throws up again about two hours later . She only throws up these two times and then she is her normal self the rest of the day. She has been complaining of stomach pain but she acts like her normal self. Both nights I was home to wittness this she had chicken for supper.( Chicken alfredo one night and KFC the last night). The one morning I wasn't home so I don't know if she did it for hubby. Can anyone think of a reason for her to do this. No history of acid reflux but we have a distant cousin with Cilac's disease. Also she is not having a runny nose so I don't think it is sinus drainage.
* forgot to add she is having diarrhea only after she vomits.

Could she be swallowing some toothpaste? I'm not sure that would do it, but maybe if she's sensitive?

Well the doctor today says it looks like a food allergy. He is wanting to cut one food a week untill we find her trigger. He wants us to start with milk since her Grandma has a milk allergy and it is a common allergy. It is already a fight. She wants mac and cheese and her cheesesticks and I have to tell her no. This is going to stink untill I find the allergy. Wish me luck and hope this is the only food I have to cut.

I'm not sure about making your own, but your larger grocery stores, and maybe even like a Wal-mart or something may have ice cream that's made with either rice or coconut milk. I've seen them around here. I've even seen yogurt, mac & no cheese, etc. Usually your organic section is going to have that kind of stuff.
If they're saying it's a lactose allergy then she might be able to get away with using a lactase enzyme. If it's a protein allergy probably not so sure. Was she on regular formula? if so and it didn't bother her I'd be surprised if it is a milk allergy. two of my kids had milk allergies as babies but grew out of it.

Rachel had a milk allergy as a baby but grew out of it. Jamie was on regular formula. She had another reaction this morning before she went to school. The only 2 things she had that she did not have yesterday was strawberry syrup in her rice milk and the broccli noodle soup at school that they drained the liquid off of. I am hoping it is the syrup but I don't think it is.

My oldest DS has an allergy to milk protein (not the lactose). We have used rice milk and coconut milk for him to drink. I have never made ice cream using it. We bought some rice dream ice cream for his birthday once but he didn't really like it. I make "ice cream" for the kids which is a frozen banana, some frozen berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries - just whatever I have on hand) and then just enough rice or coconut milk to make it the consistency of soft serve ice cream. I put it all in the blender. I don't usually add any other sweetener than the fruit and all my kids love it. We found out about his allergy when he was 9 months old so he really doesn't ever remember having milk/cheese products so doesn't know what he is missing.
I hope you are able to figure out what the problem is. Food allergies can overwhelming at first but now after living with it for almost 4 years it is just a normal part of our life.

Strawberries are a known allergy trigger, they say not to give kids under 2 anything with them in. I donīt know if strawberry syrup actually has any strawberries in it, but if it does it could be that.
