Jamie was at my Grandma's house and burned her hand on the lightbulb in the lamp. She cried for three straight hours. Her Middle finger has a blister at the bottom of her finger and it is still red on the middle of her finger. She slept last night with a bag of ice on her hand and this morning she was still favoring her hand. I can already tell this is going to be a fun day

Toothpaste? I've never heard that, but interesting to know!

She was a crab all morning. After she took a nap this afternoon she started acting more like herself. She still thinks she needs ice for her boo-boos. She at least played for a little while without babying her hand.

How big is the blister? Josh recently burned his hand pretty bad. We had to put burn cream on it for a few weeks and bandage it. I hope her burn isn't terrible and heals quickly.

And what's with toothpaste? Sounds like it would burn.

It was about 1/2 inch across the blister. It is slowly shrinking down. I never heard of using toothpaste before. I have heard of vasoline, butter, ice in salt water but never toothpaste.

Poor Jamie. We use silvidine cream (sp?). It's cream with silver in it. Antibacterial and will stop a burn in it's tracks. I burn myself cooking and use it and 2 hours later you wouldn't even know you were burned. I think all parents should get some.

Toothpaste doesn't burn! I use it whenever I burn myself cooking (which is quite often since I'm a clutz) and it takes away the burning sting and the redness. I'm surprised no one else has heard of it ...
