DH - Not sure, but he's a much calmer more confident person...so I'm betting not as much yelling.

me: my mom would just start swinging...we learned early on not to fight her. Lots of yelling.
DH: usually his mom would spank but when dad did it was with the belt or paddle

We just had consequences and reward charts (my Mum was a primary school teacher ) and when she raised her voice we knew we were in trouble, but it wasn´t very often.

Dh parents just let them get on with it, they are free spirits; needless to say the 3 youngest are wasters and DH left home early, so did his eldest sister. Which is why it makes me mad when they try to discipline my kids!

Me: I had whoopings and the occasional grounding.

Dh: His father would beat him for just about anything.

I had spankings (with my mom's hairbrush back if it was really bad.) And cold showers. I didn't get disciplined too often as I got older.
DH had time outs and groundings.

We both got the occasional beating (belts, wooden spoons, twigs across the hands, etc.). I got beat for myself AND my brother. Needless to say he's a hellion now and I throw it into my mom's face for never disciplining him

DH and I both were sent to our rooms and/or grounded. We were both spanked very rarely as younger children (never with an object).
