Hi all. Sorry I went MIA. I decided to take the boys for a very impromptu trip to FL to visit my mom and sisters. DH was going to be working a ton and I've been feeling very home-sick, so we up and went. :-) I was only going to stay a week, but ended up staying longer. Just wasn't ready to come home yet

Anyway, I'm home now.

The news is that we are BUYING A HOUSE! We are sooo excited!! but also nervous, as this is our first time buying! We really haven't told anyone outside of family yet. We were not looking and had planned on waiting another 6 months or so before even starting to look, but God just dropped this in our lap and it was too perfect to pass up! It's a 3+ bedroom/3 bath house on 8.5 acres (with a barn, pavilion, and 2 car detached garage), so we will be able to (slowly) start the homesteading we've always wanted to do! The house is in pretty good shape, but the previous owners (foreclosure home) left a few projects unfinished, and there are other things we would like to remodel, so it will take a bit of work (and time, and money..), but otherwise it's a great size house, on land like we wanted, in a great location, etc..! Did I mention we're excited?!?! We're knee deep in inspections/appraisals/Contractor estimates etc.. But if everything goes through, we will close the end of July. In order to make it all work out, DH will be working a lot, picking up extra shifts as he can, so I'm not sure if that means I'll be on here more or less..

That is awesome, Heather! Congrats! I hope everything goes smoothly. How far of a drive is it for you to get to your moms now? I love that you can make impromptu trips like that - as I'm sure you do too!

Katie- Thank you! It's still about a 10 hour drive for the boys and I and all the stops we make. Long, but doable (unlike the 18-20 from PA to FL!!). This was my first attempt at driving any distance alone with the boys.. and it wasn't bad at all!

Sam - You're funny! ...and if you're right, you just might give my husband a panic attack!

Sandy - Thank you! DH and I have been married 4.5 years, and we're in our 3rd state and 4th house. I'm just so excited to think I may never have to move again!! Or at least not for a very long time, after my children are grown!

That's great! We just went through buying a house for the second time. The first house we bought after we were married was a foreclosure. I hope all goes well for you. It sounds like a great place for you!
