do you plan meals ahead of time, or do you decide on the day?
do you prepare them in advance?

Yes I normally plan ahead of time. Normally I plan out a menu with about 13 to 14 meals and go grocery shopping every two weeks. I don't normally prepare them ahead though.

I try to... if I don't plan ahead enough to get something out of the freezer then it's hard to get something decent on the table in time for dinner... it ends up being a pasta or grilled cheese night.

I prepare some stuff ahead of time and freeze it - like baked ziti, lasagna, stuffed shells, some casseroles. I need to make some more, we're running low I think.

I try and then fail. So I do meal planning daily. I have a stocked freezer with every kind of meat we would possibly eat, and I keep a stocked pantry. So every morning I decide what lunch and dinner will be. Pull what I need and deal with it when I'm done work. At least then the meat is thawing throughout the day.

I try to make larger meals, so that I can send DH to work with leftovers, and so that we can have leftovers for lunch too.

My goodness how do you do this lol? I am struggling with grocery shopping once a week and cooking every day I tried last week to make dinners we could eat for two nights with something else in between.

My goal is to make a huge meal on Saturdays and Sundays and freeze half or more. Then on Tuesdays and Thursdays I pull something from the freezer, because these are gym days and I have less time. Other days I cook but a lot of times it's simple, like turkey burgers with a side of veggies.

I really dread it though..lol..It takes me an hour to come up with about 13 meals to cook and making the lists. Then it is literally a 2 hour shopping trip! It is definately worth it, because I have zero time to go to the store everyday, because I always have the kiddos.
