Hey girls! Have you all shopped for gifts for the daycare providers, nannies or teachers for Christmas?

I haven't yet and was trying to get some ideas?

Caden and London go to the same daycare with 2 teachers and then Caden goes to pre-k and has 3 teachers. So I will be buying 5 gifts!

I've been thinking about it... I dont really like giving money, but I can't think of a good gift idea either... at the moment my plan is a Target gift card. Juliet's at a small home daycare, so it's just the one "teacher" person. I'd also like to make something or include a gift item with it... but don't know what.

I'm kinda spoiling my nanny, but I'm hoping it pays off in spades...and honestly, I wouldn't ordinarily, but she's already been telling me how much both she and her mother (whom I've only met once) are planning to spoil Maggie.

SO, I got her a cooking seminar for 2 people (expect she will take her mom) with a pro chef downtown, I got her a professional whip creamer gadget thingy and a couple cookbooks I picked up at a warehouse sale. She's eager to learn more about cooking and so this is why the theme. I'm also giving her a small monetary bonus. Besides DH and Maggie I think I spent the most on her of all the gifts I've bought. But when I think about it, she's with us day in and day out, and she's been uber flexible and helpful.

I was just planning on giving our nanny money, maybe a little more than one week's pay. It would be nice to think of a small gift to go with it, but who knows what that might be. She did just get her first Christmas tree at her own place, so maybe an ornament with a picture of Juliana? Thanks for bringing this up. I obviously need to start thinking!

the ornament with pic is a really great idea. even if it is for a small tree in the classroom. anything home made like is super cute.

Im not sure what to do for the boys' teacher either, i was thinking a subway gift card and something that the boys can make for her. hope the boys will make up my mind soon

Ok... So I was planning on making jars of brownie mix or hot cocoa mix to give them but I am rethinking things now.

There are 4 full time baby room workers, the 2 front office staff (who I always see in the baby room) and loads of part time helpers.

Do I give a gift to each of the 6 primaries? I dont know whats the norm to do in this situation.

I think what you were planning sounds awesome. If you want to do something for everyone, can you get them some nut free treats or something? Bring them in with a big bow on them for eveyrone to share?
