Does your place of work let you have time off the last two weeks of the year?

We have 4 people who know my area, and 3 who know the other. At least 1 person from each section has to be at work. Its hard because we have a huge budget due by the beginning of Jan. I chose not to take much time off during that time since bf has to work.

We're off (closed) between xmas and new years because of how our holidays work (we "earn" days like veterans day, columbus day and work those actual days and take them at the end of the year. If I want time off before that I just need to put in a request early enough... they don't want everyone taking off, but there are enough people it would probably work out ok

I have 19 vacation days and I use them whenever I want. No special permission. 12/26 and 1/2 are holidays so I'll take vacation and have a full week, plus Monday off. Hopefully my DD's molars will be in by then or I'll go crazy. I may have to ask the nanny to come for a few days.

We don't have a shut down either, but we get corp holidays to account for the US manufacturing shut down, and we generally take them the week btwn xmas and new year. I also stack vacation on to the front of that, so I'll be finished work this week until the new year! YAY!

I'm allowed to use my time off around the holidays as long as we have coverage in the office but I usually work most of the days and save my time off for the spring and summer.

My job is closed this year on the 26th and the 27th, since Christmas falls on the weekend. We get paid for those two day. I am taking off the rest of the week. (use some annual leave) The last time I took off for an extended amount of time was when I was on maternity leave in 2010, so I deserve it! lol

We are not allowed to have off the last 2 weeks of the year.

In the department that I am in, (accounting) we don't have any dead lines becasue the year end is in June and not December.
