Not at all. We're supposed to be able to take 10 days of personal business allowance, but my management is really flexible here.
Because I have the nanny, I only have to call in sick if I'm dreadfully ill, Maggie is like hospital sick, or the nanny is way too sick to work. Like I'm dealing with extremes here. So it's honestly not very often, and when I'm sick, I'm still on for part of the day. it's extremely rare that I would miss meetings for not feeling well. So when it happens, and sometimes even if it's a sanity break day, I have zero issues taking it. 5 years ago, it would have had me wrapped around a tree even considering a sick day. But not anymore.

I don't get a specific # of sick days. It's just whenever I'm sick, I take off. I think I've taken 3-5 sick days total in 6 years with the company. I've left early lots more times than that, though, for Juliana's appointments or my own random appointments. I don't feel guilty at all.
I feel incredibly guilty because my manager has to find someone to cover the shift. If we call in sick we have to use PTO to cover it. We also have a system in place that essentially punishes you for it so people don't take advantage of it. I've called in sick 3 times in the almost 3 years I have worked there.
Yes and No. My store is small, there are only 4 people on for a shift, 3 floor associates and the manager so I know what it's like when there's a call off. But we earn 6 sick days and 3 personal days which we can use as sick days if needed.
