Well I had my review at work 2 Fridays ago and was told that I was loosing my job at that they were outsourcing the accounting department.

Nice review huh!?!?! He didn't say anything else on it except he liked my lay out of my personal appraisal.

He also gave me a $1000 raise. I feel like that was a sympathy raise.

I kind of wish he just let me go. I know unemployment doesn't pay the bills but going to work everyday knowing you won't have a job sooner or later isn't really fun.

I know the one person in the office that no one can stand that will be retiring had a hand in it.

Have you ever lost your job like being laid off before?

oh sweetie. I'm so sorry to hear that. It can't be easy - and I could say that I'd be the least motivated person in the building.

Is that $1000 your package or are you being laid off without a package?

I've never been laid off, and certainly not with notice like that. I know when DH lost his job a year ago, it was not easy for either of us. We were lucky he wasn't out of work long, but it could just as easily have been a lot longer in this economy.

I wish there were better reassurances I could give you. I just give you hugs and a whole lot of commiserating in how bad it sucks. I'm so sorry.

I have never been laid off before. Do you have your resume out looking for a new job?

No that was just my raise no package.

I will be given a 30 day notice when my job is completed.

And yes I am looking but not much around here that isn't too much of a pay cut.

Thank you so much for your kind words.

Are you able to look beyond your area? Maybe changing locations (moving)?
