So I know they're normal human beings and after a while of doing the same thing over and over again, you just gotta shake it up.

We're hitting a bit of a rut I think with our 2 year old. She loves preschool when she's there, but getting her there is increasingly difficult this week, and getting her home is equally tough.

We're wrapping up our first full month of no sick days since she started in May and she's practically begging me to go to the doctor. I finally get the kid healthy, and now she's sick to death of going to school.

She's all excited when I come to pick her up at the end of the day, but when I turn the car down the road that leads into our neighbourhood she starts begging me to do anything BUT go home. I can't win. And I know she's a toddler and she generally doesn't know what she wants at any given moment, but it's wearing me down. I still struggle a lot with wanting to be a SAHM or to be flexibly self employed so that I could keep her home. These kinds of weeks make that soooo much harder!

Ideas on what I could do to help spice things up a bit more? I've tried taking her to the park or actively play something after we get home instead of diving right into meal prep and house chores. We go grocery shopping together after work once a week which changes up the scene a bit for her. And we go out for dinner every Friday night to shake things up. I know I'm busy as stink, but I'm fresh out of ideas.

HELP

oh that has to be tough on you and her.

Is something happening at school that she doesn't want to go?

I really don't have any advice I didn't have to go thru this with my 2 kids.

Honestly I don't think anything's happening at school or at home that's causing it. The only things I can put it down to are:

1) we're wrapping up our first 4 month stint without a sick day since March which is both great, but also maybe taking a toll on her ability to cope with the mundane.
2) a love/hate relationship she has with one of the other kids in her preschool room.
3) a love/hate relationship she's having with her father at home.
4) maybe it's an attachment phase with me?
5) she's just plain bored with the status quo - I get really un-cageable when I get bored so she comes by it honestly.

I'm guessing the boredom thing is my real problem here, but most of the extra-curricular programs in our area that I think she could enjoy are still just a little too old for her. She has to be 2.5 before we can enroll her in a dance class.

oh that could be it then.

I know when my kids get bored they don't want to go home or if they are upset with me or daddy they don't want anything to do with us.
