If I get a BFP...I really want to tell DH tomorrow, which is my birthday. But...I am only 8dpo today, so still early.
I picked up a package of Equate and First Response HPT's last night (first time DH was with me and the look on his face was the same as when I have put tampons in the cart).
Impatient/curious lil' me decided to POAS this morning. Just in case it was +, I collected in a cup so I could do another test. I used a First Response and I have no idea what I was seeing. I saw something. It was very faint but definately there.
I was going to take a pic and try to enhance it with Photoshop, but someone borrowed my camera and the other one had a dead battery. I will bring my work camera home tonight.
I did use the same urine sample and tried one of the Equate's (the +/-) and that was a definite BFN...but I think the other brand is more sensitive as it said you can test 4 days before your missed period and I think the Eqaute one said you can test the day your period is due.
I don't have my hopes up too high as I am totally on the fence with whether it was an evap line or a faint BFP. I O'd early so I didn't get my trigger shot, so that isn't messing with anything.

I remembered to bring the camera home, but having issues getting a clear picture and now the computer isn't recognizing the camera. So I gave up. Will try again later. I still see what I saw this morning.
I did POAS again...pure curiosity...and as I was expecting, it was a BFN (I did drink a lot of water today). Now I'm off to go shopping...and stop to get some more HPT's...already went through half of what I bought last night-I feel wasteful. I sure wish HCG naturally turned your urine blue or something--would save people a lot of money on HPT's!

OK. I POAS again this morning-9dpo. Still faint, but wider than the one yesterday morning, possibly slightly darker, but definitely pink--I feel like I'm looking at one of those magic eye posters. I thoroughly examined the HPT before and after I POAS and I could not see the second line at all--I know some you can see the line if you hold it at a certain angle and the light is right and the moon is in alignment ( )
I had bought a 3-pack of First Response and the one yesterday showed a very faint line--yesterday morning and this morning's line both showed up about 3-4 minutes after POAS. The one yesterday afternoon was definitely a BFN and this mornings was the last from that pack. Is there a statistically significant chance that I could get 2 evaps from the same package? Today's you can see the line when you look at it at an angle or when it is laying flat--yesterday's I had to hold at an angle to see it best.
I think I am going to take it as a BFP??? It's my birthday (consider yourself special as I never tell people when my birthday is) and if this is a BFP, it would really make my birthday special as there has been something happening on the majority of my birthdays--fire, death, siblings events, moving, family vacations, etc., so it has become just another day for me.
The pictures still aren't showing the line. I've seen some great shots of faint BFP's on here...did you use a scanner or digital camera?

Happy Birthday to you! What a present!

Oh, and I just used my scanner instead of a camera.

I have never noticed the HPT/OPK pics on FF before.
Not certain if the two in this pic are the same, but mine is identical (or as identical as it can be) to the one on the bottom.

I did go ahead and tell DH. He had walked into the kitchen to get a drink and I handed him a gift bag. Inside the bag was the jar of Prego spaghetti sauce with a little extra addition to the label. DH is a chef...so it was quite appropriate. The ironic thing is that I am deathly allergic to tomatoes, but I couldn't resist the jar of Prego. I think he was in shock as has just spent 15-20 minutes on the couch, after I left the room, watching Lifetime.

When should I go for bloodwork to confirm everything? I had a chemical pg a couple years ago so I told DH that it is still early. I'm a little nervous because of that, but that time I was on antibiotics and BCP's--the doctor specifically told me that they would not interfere with the effectiveness of the BCP's. Had it stuck, then the EDC would have been on my birthday. Maybe June 3 is a good date for me?
How fast can a quantitative HCG be run? Last time, I heard back the next day...but wondering if I have it drawn first thing, when the results might be available to the doctor?

Happy Birthday!!! That is a great birthday present, and I LOVE the Prego can. I have to think about doing something like that because my DH loves to cook.

Beta HCG's (if the facility has their own lab) are done in 45 minutes. Atleast, that is how long they take at the lab I work at. They let the blood clot for 20 minutes, then spin it down for 13-15 minutes, and then run the test. (Probably more information than you needed to know). So, you should get the results back the same day.
